Greenscreen® Trellis Panels Transforming the Built Form
Sebastopol, CA
Mork Ulnes Architects are transforming a residence and private property in Sebastopol, CA, into a serene artist retreat. As part of the design, the architects selected Greenscreen® Trellis Panels to shape space and create subtle separation between the main residence and an accessory dwelling unit, while stylishly framing the garage. Installed by Larkspur Builders, the system is designed to support climbing plants that will gradually transform the structure into a dynamic living façade—adding texture, shade, and seasonal interest over time.
Crafted from dimensional metal wire, the trellis panels provide a sculptural 3D framework for vines to grow and intertwine, forming vibrant, ever-changing compositions that function as living works of art. Finished with a high-performance, Silver colored powder-coat for long-term durability, the panels soften the building mass while maintaining permeability for light, air, and views—creating a layered dialogue between architecture and landscape.
This project demonstrates Greenscreen’s versatility as a design tool, empowering architects and landscape designers to define space, introduce privacy, and support living architecture within a refined, resilient framework.
