Manhattan Beach Civic Center Creates a Green Gateway

The Manhattan Beach Police & Fire Facility project, completed in 2005, stands as a pioneering example of Greenscreen®'s structural versatility beyond standard applications. Executed in partnership with Atlas Ornamental Iron Works as the primary contractor and coordinated through Impac International, this collaboration delivered exceptional results for the City of Manhattan Beach. This early civic installation showcases how our modular trellis system can transform institutional architecture through custom overhead configurations. The project features precisely engineered panels ranging from 35" to 56" in various dimensions, creating a signature entryway that balances security with biophilic design principles.

Nearly two decades later, this installation continues to demonstrate exceptional performance in Manhattan Beach's coastal environment. The overhead trellis structure has matured into a verdant canopy that provides both aesthetic and functional benefits to this critical public safety facility. Through carefully selected panel dimensions, custom mounting solutions, and textured finish, the system has withstood the test of time while supporting thriving vegetation – proof that sustainable infrastructure and civic architecture can achieve lasting harmony through thoughtful design.
