Tournesol had the opportunity to work on a project atop a new 245,000-square-foot laboratory building with modern offices and R&D. The building was designed by Flad Architects, with landscape design by JETT Landscape Architecture + Design, who specified Tournesol for our product customization, engineering, and production capabilities.

To help bring this vision to life, NBBJ architects specified custom site furnishings to create a welcoming and safe environment for patients, families, and visitors. Tournesol manufactured custom benches from thermally modified wood, selected for its warmth, durability, and ability to withstand the rigors of a high-use healthcare setting. By uniting wood craftsmanship with precision steel engineering, our custom benches preserve the design story of this project while undergoing rigorous structural analysis and fabrication to ensure aesthetic integrity and real-world performance.

Sorrento Mesa

Gensler drew inspiration from the surrounding sloped landscape and specified Kitsap Aluminum Modular Planter Walls, powder-coated in Cedar Bronze, to shape and define the spaces. Anchored directly to a few of the Kitsap walls, custom cantilevered wooden benches arranged in a piano-key pattern design, invite people to gather and recharge.
Chicago's Urban Square
Jacobs/Ryan Associates designed a refreshed courtyard that emphasizes clean architectural lines, warm materials, and flexible gathering areas for everyday use. For spacemaking and introducing greenery, they selected Tournesol’s Kitsap Modular Aluminum Planter Walls, adding sculptural structure and shaping environment's flow. Custom piano-key benches, crafted from thermally modified wood and mounted to the planter walls, create a smooth, rhythmic sequence of seating throughout the courtyard.

Our Wally Collection wood benches and platform seating were mounted along the sides of specific Kitsap wall planters - the longest of the four benches at 28’. Handel also chose many sizes of our made-to-order, rectangular Wilshire Collection planters, our most popular and versatile planter. Also added were our square and round Urban Collection planters as well as our Bioretention Planters.
